Defeat heart disease with cheese, according to the European Journal of Nutrition
Compiling information across 15 studies, the European Journal of Nutrition has found a correlation between heart disease and cheese -- and it's a good one. It turns out that eating a single slice of cheese a day could lower your risk of heart disease by as much as 15 percent. That's right, not only is cheese healthy for your heart, but you can just throw out basically everything you remember from grade school dietary science.
Of course, that doesn't mean that you should be choking down the cheddar. The study, covering the diets of over 200,000 individuals, determined that moderate intake of cheese appeared to be healthy, not only reducing the chances of heart disease, but also decreasing the chances of stroke by 10 percent.
So now we've got both cheese and wine on our side -- just like the ancients already knew. Take that, fad diets.

I love it when what I'm going to do anyway turns out to be the healthy thing.
