Check out 'fromage fort,' a new way to use old cheese.
"Eating Trash With Claire" outlines a new, unique way to get rid of all your old cheese scraps: throw it all in a blender. "Fromage fort" is a cheese spread made with all of your excess cheese, perfect for making room in your fridge for all your new cheese.
Of course, it isn't just scraps of cheese thrown in a blender. Fromage fort also includes butter, garlic, wine, and pretty much anything else you want to throw in -- and I have always been a fan of recipes that include "anything else you want to throw in."
Fromage fort is a lot like a stew, except with cheese.
Some optional ingredients include:
- Sour cream.
- Chili peppers.
- Honey.
- Nuts.
- Dried fruit.
- Just any alcohol. The more alcohol you pour in, the more appropriate it becomes.
And if you find the consistency substantial enough, you can even roll it up into a cheese ball.
